Ayaka—The Patented Innovation Setting New Standards in Farming
15/06/2025
For farmers, managing pests such as stem borers and leaf folders remains a significant challenge, particularly in rice cultivation. These lepidopteran pests are known to damage critical stages like flowering, often resulting in considerable yield losses. Traditional pest management approaches often fall short because they have a narrow range of effectiveness, require frequent reapplication, and may not reach pests hiding inside plant tissues. A new insecticide formulation called ‘Ayaka’, developed by JU Agri Sciences, has been introduced to address these limitations. It is a patented combination of Emamectin Benzoate (1.25%), Lambda-Cyhalothrin (1.5%), and Bifenthrin (4.5%) in an EC (emulsifiable concentrate) formulation. This combination aims to provide broad-spectrum control of lepidopteran pests and improve the overall effectiveness of pest management strategies in rice.
How Lepidopteran Pests Affect Your Crop Yield
Lepidopteran pests, including stem borers and leaf folders, are known to cause death to the rice crop. Stem borers burrow into stems, disrupting nutrient flow, while "leaf folders" roll the leaf and feed on it, thus reducing photosynthesis.
The losses from pest attacks may be 30 to 50% yield loss in severe cases, rigorously affecting farmers. Conventional insecticides usually target only one insect behaviour and leave crops susceptible to resistant or undetectable pest development behaviour. Repeated sprays will also create costs and labour expenses, and cause a large amount of residue to concern both the farmer and the end consumer.
Ayaka’s Revolutionary Approach
- Block glutamate channels with Emamectin Benzoate,
resulting in flaccid paralysis.
Why is Ayaka Different?
The Ayaka’s innovative features make it a farmer’s first choice -
- Multiple Pest Control: Covers multiple lepidopteran pests
and has application flexibility, which cuts down on the multiple products
required.
- Fast knockdown and longevity of control: Fast-action
speed sites, with quick knockdown and extended residual control, make it more
likely to manage pests over ranges of field conditions.
- Flexible Application: Farmers can apply Ayaka as a
preventive or early curative option, which maximizes application flexibility.
- Cost-Effective: Time, labour, and money go down by
applying fewer sprays.
- Crop-Specific Yield: Crops will thrive when pests are
under control.
Ayaka is available in user-friendly pack sizes (75 ml, 300
ml, and 900 ml). The recommended dose for rice crops as a target for stem
borers and leaf folders is 300 ml per acre.
How Ayaka Improves Productivity and Efficiency
Farmers who used Ayaka in trials saw
their yields increase by as much as 20% compared to traditional insecticides.
This was because Ayaka protected crops for a long time and worked on a wide
range of pests. Ayaka not only saves their crops, but it also saves them time,
money, and the trouble of having to spray several times.
The bar graph shows that JU Agri Sciences's Ayaka
insecticide leads to a higher crop yield (about 53 Qt/Hectare) than the
traditional insecticide (about 44 Qt/Hectare), which suggests that Ayaka is
better.
Ayaka: Empowering Farmers Through Smart Crop Protection
Ayaka is more than just an insecticide; it's a promise to farmers. JU Agri Sciences has come up with a solution by combining long-lasting protection, broad-spectrum pest control, and ease of use. Ayaka reduces the physical, financial, and time burdens that farmers often face with conventional pesticides. Its scientifically formulated composition ensures crops are protected more effectively and for longer periods, reducing the need for multiple applications. This results in improved crop health, improved yields and ultimately a more stable livelihood for farmers. JU Agri Sciences, with the help of Ayaka, aims to empower farmers by supporting sustainable agricultural practices that prioritise crop health and farmer well-being.
